Saints and Servants: What a Partnership!

Sep 15, 2024    John Holmes

There is both dignity and humility in being a Christian. Christians are both “saints” (set apart for God) and “servants” (called to serve Christ). Writing from prison, Paul expresses deep, joyful affection for the Philippians, thanking God for consistently participating in the Gospel and voicing his confidence in their future commitment to the Christian faith and mission. He prays they would continue actively growing in the faith until the day of Christ, all to the glory of God. Similarly, today, Christians should 1) live with confidence in God’s work, 2) actively partner in seeing the Gospel shared with others, and 3) cultivate relationships marked by love, support, and thanksgiving.
