Stay on Course: Living as Citizens of Christ’s Kingdom

: Paul has just spoken in Philippians 3:12-14 about pressing on toward the goal for the prize of God’s heavenly calling. He now urges those “mature” in faith to have the same mindset and not become complacent. The term “mature” reflects a process of growth that continues until believers meet Christ. Believers should pursue spiritual maturity by living in light of their heavenly citizenship. He contrasts the mindset of those who set their minds on earthly things with those who eagerly await the transformation that comes with Christ's return. Believers are called to follow godly examples, avoid worldly distractions, and live with their ultimate hope in the Savior.
