No Hypocrisy Here: The Command to Live a Disciplined Life.
Sep 1, 2024 • John Holmes
Paul talks about a problem in the church where some people are lazy and causing trouble by not working to support themselves. Instead, they rely on other Christians to take care of them. He tells the church how to handle this situation, advising them to stay away from those who are being disruptive and to stop providing for them if they refuse to work. Hence, Christians should avoid undisciplined lives that do not follow Jesus Christ's and the apostles' teachings. Believers should not act as busybodies; instead, they should work quietly. People who do these unruly things should not be enabled in their behavior(s) but admonished as brothers and sisters (see 1 Thess. 5:14).
