The Shape of a Discipled Church
Mar 8, 2026 • John Holmes
We've seen in this series so far that the gospel calls sinners to respond to Jesus Christ with repentance and faith, resulting in forgiveness and new life. Jesus is proclaimed as both Lord and Savior, demanding a response to His finished work and sovereign reign. The result is that the Gospel creates a Spirit-formed community that is devoted to biblical truth, authentic fellowship, sacrificial generosity, faithful worship, and gospel witness—resulting in visible joy and continual growth. Or simply stated: when people truly repent and believe the gospel, God forms them into a devoted, unified, worshiping church that reflects and shares Christ with others and grows spiritually as the Lord saves.
